“Doctor Sleep” จะเป็นเรื่องราวหลังจากเหตุการณ์ใน The Shining ในอีก 40 ปีถัดมาจากเหตุการณ์สยอง ณ โรงแรมโอเวอร์ลุค ที่ยังคงทำให้แดนรู้สึกหวาดกลัวจนถึงทุกวันนี้ แดนพยายามหาวิธีให้ตัวเองได้ใช้ชีวิตอย่างปกติสุขที่สุด แต่ความสงบสุขนั้นกลับพังทลายลงเมื่อแดนได้เจอกับ แอบรา หญิงสาวจิตใจกล้าหาญเจ้าของพลังวิเศษเรียกว่า “ไชน์” ที่เดินทางออกตามหาแดนเพื่อขอความช่วยเหลือให้ร่วมต่อสู้กับ โรส เดอะ แฮท ผู้เหี้ยมโหด และเดอะ ทรู น็อต กลุ่มลัทธิคัลต์ลูกสมุนของเธอ ที่ออกตามล่าเด็กผู้บริสุทธิ์เพื่อชีวิตอมตะของตัวเอง จากคนแปลกหน้ากลายเป็นพันธมิตร ในระหว่างที่แดนและแอบราต้องเอาชีวิตเข้าเสี่ยงอันตรายในสงครามใหญ่กับโรส จิตใจอันบริสุทธิ์และกล้าหาญของแอบรากลับปลุกพลังลึกลับภายในตัวของแดนขึ้นมาอย่างที่ไม่เคยเป็นมาก่อน แต่นั่นทำให้เหล่าภูติผีวิญญาณร้ายในอดีตฟื้นคืน และทำให้แดนต้องเผชิญหน้ากับความหวาดกลัวอีกครั้ง “Doctor Sleep” สร้างอิงจากนวนิยายชื่อเดียวกันของเจ้าพ่อสยองขวัญ สตีเฟ่น คิง ซึ่งเป็นภาคต่อของนวนิยาย The Shining ที่มีการสร้างเป็นภาพยนตร์และขึ้นแท่นเป็นต้นตำรับความสยองไปเมื่อปี 1980 กำกับและเขียนบทโดยไมค์ ฟลานาแกน ผู้ฝากผลงานสยองชื่อดังไว้แล้วมากมายอาทิ Oculus (2013), Before I Wake (2016), Gerald’s Game (2017) และซีรีส์ทางช่องสตรีมมิ่ง The Haunting of Hill House ร่วมกับทีมนักแสดงนำโดย ยวน แม็คเกรเกอร์, รีเบคก้า เฟอร์กูสัน และเจค็อบ เทรมเบลย์

“Doctor Sleep” follows the events of The Shining, 40 years after the horrors of the Overlook Hotel. That still frightens Dan to this day. Dan tries to find a way for himself to live as normal as possible.
But that peace is shattered when Dan meets Abra, a brave young woman with magical powers called “Shine”, who sets out in search of Dan for help in her fight against the ruthless Rose the Hat. and The True Knot, her cult subordinate.
to hunt innocent children for their own immortal life. From strangers to allies As Dan and Abra put their lives at stake in a massive war with Rose. Abra’s pure and courageous mind awakened a mysterious power within Dan like never before. But that revives the spirits of the past. And causing Dan to face his fear once again, “Doctor Sleep.”
Based on the horror godfather Stephen King’s novel of the same name, this sequel to the 1980s horror novel The Shining was directed and written by Mike Flanagan. He is credited with many well-known horror works such as Oculus (2013), Before I Wake (2016), Gerald’s Game (2017), and the streaming series The Haunting of Hill House, with an all-star cast of Ewan. McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson and Jacob Tremblay
